Marat Otarbayev, PhD, is an embryologist-geneticist and molecular biologist who directs the Ecomed Human Reproduction Clinic in Almaty. He earned bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in biology from al-Farabi Kazakh National University, with doctoral research on angiogenesis in cryopreserved and transplanted human ovarian tissue.
Since joining Ecomed in 2008, Dr. Otarbayev has helped introduce preimplantation genetic testing and advanced embryology technologies in Kazakhstan. His work includes clinical embryology, cryobiology, laboratory innovation and international scientific training, and he holds ESHRE certification in clinical embryology.
